Facilitator-led working prototype Calder County scenario · not for self-service use

A working group of the 17 Rooms initiative

About this prototype. This is an early working prototype from the 17 Rooms initiative—a partnership of the Brookings Institution and the Rockefeller Foundation—testing whether AI can help groups work through complex, multi-stakeholder problems together.

Calder County, Michigan, is a fictional scenario. The conditions, maps and policy options shown here are illustrative. The fit scores are a simple, transparent weighting—not predictions, probabilities or empirical ratings—and every recommendation is meant to be questioned and improved by the people in the Room. It does not run a live predictive model.

The model is calibrated to the information shared so far about fictional Calder County, and could in future be adapted to any community running a similar problem-solving process. Participant material reflects only paragraphs each person cleared, alongside public information.
